Noul program de cooperare între Republica Moldova și FMI

În perioada 19-27 octombrie 2020, echipa de experţi a Fondului Monetar Internaţional (FMI) va purta discuții la distanță cu autoritățile Republicii Moldova, din sediul FMI la Washington. Scopul misiunii este de a realiza exercițiul regulat de colectare a informației privind evoluțiile economice recente, a se informa referitor la implementarea angajamentelor asumate în contextul programului agreat cu autoritățile la nivel de experți, care urmează a fi susținut prin Mecanismul extins de creditare (ECF) și Mecanismul de finanţare extinsă (EFF), precum și pentru a discuta politicile promovate de autorități în vederea menținerii stabilității macroeconomice și bugetare, inclusiv în contextul bugetului pentru anul 2021.
 
Ieri, 19 octombrie, prim-ministrul Ion Chicu a purtat o discuție cu Mitsuhiro Furusawa, directorul executiv adjunct al FMI și Alfred Kammer, director al Departamentului european al Fondului Monetar Internațional (FMI). Evenimentul a avut loc în cadrul întrunirilor anuale ale Fondului Monetar Internațional (FMI) și ale Grupului Băncii Mondiale, care s-au desfășurat la Washington în format on-line. La ședințe au fost prezenți ministrul Finanțelor, Sergiu Pușcuță, și Octavian Armașu, guvernatorul Băncii Naţionale a Moldovei.
 
Premierul Ion Chicu a menționat că „unul din obiectivele majore ale Guvernului rămâne continuarea investițiilor în proiectele de infrastructură, în construcția apeductelor, industrializarea țării, fapt ce conduce la dezvoltarea economiei și la creșterea nivelului de trai al cetățenilor”.
 
Totodată, prim-ministrul a mulțumit reprezentanților FMI pentru suportul acordat în procesul de implementare a reformelor: „Guvernul a aprobat pachetul necesar de legi care întrunește condiționalitățile noului program de finanțare cu FMI. Depunem tot efortul ca să continuăm implementarea reformelor vitale pentru Republica Moldova. Am pregătit un set de măsuri de susținere a mediului de afaceri și protejarea intereselor investitorilor”, a declarat Ion Chicu.
 
 
Valoarea noului program de cooperare între Republica Moldova și FMI constituie $558 mil. și va fi implementat pe o perioadă de 3 ani (2020-2023). Asistența financiară va fi utilizată pentru relansarea economiei Republicii Moldova și depășirea consecințelor pandemiei COVID-19, precum și pentru implementarea unor reforme instituționale.
