Microsoft acceptă bitcoin pentru plata jocurilor şi a aplicaţiilor

Microsoft a devenit cea mai mare companie din lume care sprijină tranzacţiile cu bitcoin, după introducerea în această săptămână a unei opţiuni prin care clienţii pot folosi moneda virtuală pentru a cumpăra aplicaţii, jocuri şi muzică de pe platformele digitale ale companiei. Microsoft se alătură astfel diviziilor PayPal şi Braintree ale EBay pe lista companiilor importante care acceptă tranzacţiile cu bitcoin, notează MarketWatch. Potrivit informaţiilor de pe pagina de plăţi a Microsoft, clienţii companiei pot folosi bitcoin pentru a-şi alimenta conturile, moneda virtuală fiind schimbată în bani reali la cursul zilei. Sumele pot fi folosite ulterior pentru achiziţia de produse şi aplicaţii digitale. Plăţile cu moneda virtuală nu sunt încă disponibile pentru produsele Microsoft non-digitale, iar clienţii companiei nu pot primi contravaloarea în bani a sumelor adăugate în conturi prin schimbarea bitcoin. Lansată oficial în 2009, moneda virtuală bitcoin a început să fie folosită la scară mai largă abia în 2013. Aproximativ 63.000 de companii acceptă în prezent tranzacţii cu bitcoin, printre cele mai importante numărându-se Dell, Overstock.com, Expedia sau Dish Networks. În România, doi dintre cei mai mari procesatori de plăţi mobile, Netopia mobilPay şi ZebraPay, au anunţat recent că acceptă plăţi cu bitcoin. Astfel, Netopia mobilPay a încheiat un parteneriat cu BTCXChange, platformă românească de tranzacţionare a bitcoin, în urma căruia cei 6.000 de comercianţi care folosesc sistemul mobilPay pot accepta plăţi în moneda virtuală. De asemenea, ZebraPay, care administrează peste 1.000 de terminale de plată în România, a anunţat marţi că a încheiat un parteneriat cu compania olandeză Coinzone pentru introducerea plăţilor cu bitcoin. Potrivit datelor BTCXChange, în total 5.165,18 de bitcoin, cu o valoare de circa 8,3 milioane de lei, au fost tranzacţionate anul acesta pe platforma digitală. Valoarea bitcoin a variat între 1.001 şi 3.405,56 lei pe parcursul anului. Joi, moneda virtuală se tranzacţiona la 1.285 lei.
